3, 2, 1… Lift off! Water Rocket Challenge sets the European Lux I School alight

Last week, Kirchberg’s Central Park was transformed into a veritable space launch pad.

As part of the Water Rocket Challenge, no fewer than 35 teams of students took up the challenge of designing, fitting and propelling their own water rockets.

A total of 105 launches took to the skies! Beyond the impressive spectacle, this activity was a great opportunity for the youngsters to learn about the scientific approach in an ultra-concrete way: action-reaction, aerodynamics, trajectory calculation and pressure management. Each team had the opportunity to carry out 3 trials to optimize their performance, demonstrating great perseverance.

Congratulations to all participants!

Our warmest congratulations to all these budding engineers for their boundless creativity and scientific rigor in the field.

A huge thank you also to the teachers at the Lux I European School. Their invaluable help in the run-up to the event, their logistical guidance and constant support for their respective teams all contributed to the day’s resounding success.

The future of Luxembourg space exploration is in good hands!
