5 inspiring projects to explore space in the classroom
The start of the new school year is the ideal time to awaken curiosity, stimulate creativity and give meaning to learning. For the 2025-2026 school year, ESERO Luxembourg, in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), is offering teachers and their pupils a selection of innovative educational projects, combining science, technology, engineering, mathematics… and space exploration.
Astro Pi – Programming for space
Introduce your students to programming anddata analysis by letting them write code to be executed on board the International Space Station (ISS).
A motivating project to develop computational thinking and solve real scientific challenges.
Moon Camp – Designing lunar habitats
How would we live on the Moon? With Moon Camp, students design lunar bases taking into account the real constraints of the space environment.
An interdisciplinary project combining science, engineering, creativity and teamwork.
CanSat – Building and launching a mini-satellite
Students take up the challenge of designing a can-sized satellite capable of collecting data during a real launch.
A hands-on immersion in the world ofspace engineering, experimentation and scientific research.
Climate Detectives – Investigating the climate
Using Earth observation and satellite data, students become true climate investigators.
They analyze local and global issues related to climate change, developing their critical thinking and environmental awareness.
Mission X – Training like an astronaut
Move, measure, understand: Mission X combines physical activity and science to discover how astronauts prepare for life in space.
A fun project to raise students’ awareness of health, the human body and life in microgravity.
