The Moon Camp project set up shop at the Luxembourg Science Center this week, welcoming around 60 children ready to take on one of mankind’s greatest challenges: designing a habitable base on the Moon.

Divided up into teams, the budding scientists had to demonstrate their wild imagination, but also their scientific rigor, to meet the extreme constraints of the lunar environment. How to extract water? How to produce energy and food, and above all, how to protect themselves from radiation and meteorites?

Congratulations to our future astronauts!

A huge well done to all participants for their team spirit, ingenuity and realistic lunar base projects.

We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to the teachers and supervisors who accompanied these sessions. Their support and enthusiasm enabled us to offer these 60 children an unforgettable immersion in the world of space technologies.

The next generation of ESA and space research is assured! 🚀🌕✨
